Oh, and some advice.. Even if you were jokin about the guys with natural talent, don’t let it piss you off!! Use it to motivate your baseball-playin ass to get better!! What SHOULD piss you off are the fuckheads who do got the natural talent but don’t do nothin with it.. Lazy and arrogant ballplayers don’t fly with me, ha

I agree assassin buddy! A hitter needs both confidence AND mechanics, but think of it this way — at an important time in a game, i’d rather have the player who’s a bulldog (or silent assassin, :] ) at the dish who thinks (and knows) he can hit that round thing square, rather than a guy with good mechanics. But obviously i’d take the guy that has both confidence and mechanics over either of those two any day, ha.. But if i didn’t have that guy, then i’d take the confident one.. Any thoughts?

I agree and disagree. I have played baseball for about 10-12 years now. I practice pretty well, if not, everyday in the summer for a couple hours a day. I still have no power. I have gotten good at constant abse hits, but very few to no home runs. I have tons of confidence, and have tried MANY different mechanical swings, but cant generate power. I am an avergae build guy too. I think you need confindence AND mechanics. Nothing pisses me off more then natural talent!!! haha

who is this guy trying to teach? actual people who play baseball or people who have never heard of baseball?

  9. On January 30th, 2010 at 12:34 pm Ellodeycallmesexy Says:

Always? Damon? ha, God bless the guy, but he’s the ugliest ballplayer to watch. No no, i understand where you’re comin from though. It seems to me that you like to go by the Charlie Lau type hitting?

  10. On January 30th, 2010 at 12:54 pm vegasgolf25 Says:

I agree confidence plays a roll. However, to be consistent and have longevity proper mechanics will always win out.

Before i start, i wanna let you know that i definately respect your credentials. With that said, i’m gonna politely disagree with your comment. First, i don’t think there is an “exactly correct way to swing.” My proof? The MLB. Take a look, most of the swings are incredibly ugly! I think this goes to show that confidence trumps mechanics. What do you think?

I know this comment has nothing to do with batting, but i’ve having trouble deciding between two gloves. A Nokona Black Shadow or a Miken Elite Player

    Which is better???

He didnt really say anything good hitters dont know already. He needs to mention the key points that make improving bat speed all the difference in the world.

  19. On January 30th, 2010 at 5:28 pm sun2devil Says:

I think his foot movement was just exaggerated because he didn’t put any weight into it. His foot over-rotated in that movement too.

He doesn’t specify to come up on the toes there, so he probably did that by mistake since his focus was on getting people to buy into the idea of being ahead of the bat with their stride/rotation mechanics.

  20. On January 30th, 2010 at 6:19 pm cjekuz335 Says:

not rly, wen you swing you dont want to “fold over your back leg like in 1:45. thats wrong! dead wrong, you want the ball of your foot on the ground and only the heal to half way through the arch of your foot off the ground

  21. On January 30th, 2010 at 6:35 pm vegasgolf25 Says:

This exactly the correct way to swing. No one else on YouTube has posted anything close to this. If you are a non-believer, watch MLB players at contact and you will see this exactly how they swing. I played D-1 baseball in Louisiana, coach college and I am currently a hitting instructor in Las Vegas.

  22. On January 30th, 2010 at 7:18 pm Blahst3 Says:

as you watch in the beginning his front leg is straight and his back leg is bent so im pretty sure he is.

  23. On January 30th, 2010 at 8:15 pm Blahst3 Says:

No its not wrong your power comes from your back leg sliding it forward would abuse the power in the attack on the ball. And hes not only using his arms hes showing the position of the leg and the arms he doesnt acctually swing so sorry your wrong MLB players have a swing like that.

  24. On January 30th, 2010 at 9:03 pm Budanater Says:

keep your weight on your back leg!!!! d*ck

  25. On January 30th, 2010 at 9:03 pm facetouchsk8 Says:

this is so wrong they will have no power when they open up. talking about using your whole body hes using his arms
