Darryl Glen Sittler (born September 18, 1950 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League from 1970 until 1985 for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Detroit Red Wings.

I got a leafs home 1980 Darryl Sittler used jersey signed. It’s been my prize ever since i got it in an auction. Darryl Sittler is one of the nicest and one of my favorites players of time.

dont forget that the masks then were almost paper thing you you could feel every shot that hit your face. so guys wouldnt dive at the shot either.
Their pads we’re extremely smaller and the butterfly style that’s the most popular today wasn’t really used or even heard of. So a lot of goals slid across the ice would just go in, because the pads were never on the ice.
one of my favourite players ever…. and btw, is it just me or were the goalies back then soooo much worse?

The Lanny overtime goal is one of my first hockey memories. Darryl has been the greatest Leaf in my lifetime.
