Fire, that’s too cool. I’m 51 and these guys are still my heros!
God, goalies didn’t use masks. Wasn’t Giacomin the first or one of the firsts to use a mask?
@gregnewyears Once upon a time I worked for him…no way he’s 6′4″. I think
6′1″ is kinda generous to be honest. Nice man though.
How did Phil look older in the 80s than nowadays? That… that doesn’t make any sense.
i hd the pleasure of meeting phil Esposito during a Sports Hall of Fame vent in Chicago, He was very Friendly and I enjoyed watching him watch two of his sports heroes, Boxers, Joey Giardello & Tony DeMarco as they sat together watching a Boxing Match on TV, like two young Kids. It was a special moment to witness for me.
He wasn’t 6′4, he was 6′1
@andrelebaron : remember him starring down the russian? tell him to drop gloves? that was epic.
Well I agree that he is (or was maybe he has matured) a horrible individual on some accounts (his hatred), but you have to admire the guy as a player.

Phil Esposito is not a legends he is a shit
I remember when I was growing up in the 1970’s players didnt use helmets. I think they started using helmets in the 1980’s.
And that was when you could hack them in front of the net, could you imagine how many goals he’d score today with his fat ass in front of the net with all the rules? Damn ‘Sito!
” I learned very early they paid guys that score” awesome line
Phil and Tony Esposito are my distant cousins.
my uncle is an awesome guy in person too! =)
I don’t think he was underrated at all just look at the list of top players. He was right there in the top 10 centers of all time. For my money is leadership in 72 team canada was the best ever. I know messier gets a lot of credit for new yorks 94 cup. But don’t forget who won the connsmythe in 94 . Brian Leetch and Ricter were the real reason they won the cup.
He’s one of my favorite sports personalities of all time! Who wouldn’t want to be this guy’s teammate?
I named my cat after espo for his hercules effort in the 1972 canada russia series.Thank god we had phil in 72.
“once i got in front of that net with my 218 pounds of solid fat their no way u were moving this dude” LMAO
you’re gullible
