If they hadn't been so close to the cap to start with, they could have recalled a couple of players and stayed under. When you run a payroll of $56.5 or $56.6 million, you're asking for trouble. I don't think it would be fair to make that a precedent that, if you have X amount of injuries, the cap can be bent. It's a "hard" max cap for a reason.
